The Ministry of Immigration and Asylum of Greece has issued the Decision 12889/2020 regarding the extension of permanent residences’ and temporary residenence permits’ (blue paper) validity, due to the lockdown, after COVID-19 outbreak.

More specifically, according to the Decision, residece permits issued for investment purposes (Golden Visa) that expired between the 11th of February 2020 until the 11th of March 2020 and between the 12th of March until the 12th of May 2020, may me renewed within the next five (5) months from the expiration date, meaning until the 12th of October 2020.

The expiration date is deemed extented without any further action on behalf of the applicants or their legal representatives, due to the special circumstances and the Governmental preventive measures againsts the spread of COVID-19.

Those who had an appointment at the Immigration Authority for the submission of the application, this will be re-scheduled, with the care of the applicant or legal representative.

Regarding the operation date of the Immigration Authorities, according to the Document with number 13517/08-04-2020 issued by the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum, the suspension of operation is extented until the 15th of May.
